Description

A very handsome string or twine box made from exotic solid Rosewood, beautifully turned in the form of a barrel.

The barrel comes complete with a polished brass tap, which is where the string is dispensed, about this spigot is a cutter where a length of string would be cut.

Dating to around 1860, the box remains in superb condition. The base diameter measures 3 1/4" and stands 4 3/8" tall.
