Rare Antique English Tea Caddy - Miniature Chest of Drawers

Description

A really charming little Georgian figural tea caddy, in the form of a Mahogany Chest of Drawers dating I would think to around 1800; the quality of the work is exceptional.

The front is all sharply finished to create a bank of drawers each with a cast brass pull.

The hinged lid opens to reveal a single lidded compartment with the original paper lining caddy interior. The box doesn't unfortunately come with a key and to disturb the lock would mean disturbing the original lining. A fabulous piece in excellent condition, the footprint measuring 4 1/8" x 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" tall.
