Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 1910s.
This is an interesting piece, it was made in 1918 by a soldier Pte. W. T. Hughes from the South Wales Borderers probably a Prisoner of War, it is beautifully made in mahogany, with turned handles and 5” spindles and a scratch carved provenance on the bottom and it is all fully adjustable
The wool winder is 48” high and has a 13” base
