It came from an important castle estate sale in Scotland and was probably purchased from new.
It has the painters number of 2.
This particular platter is of first quality, the stamp of the three waves only dates it to between 1870 and 1890 after which the stamp changed.
It is of first quality with no scratch through the three lines to indicate it is a second.
There are no chips, cracks and no restoration has been undertaken.
It is extremely large and measures 24 inches by 10 inches it is also incredibly heavy.
