Large Antique Silver Plate & Cut Glass Butter Dish by Walker & Hall C.1895

Description

A wonderful size, these Victorian butter dishes are usually much smaller, this one is a great size making it very usable and practical to use; perfect for serving small nibbles such as Olives or nuts too.

The scalloped stand stands on four handsome feet and is intricately engraved around the edges. The glass dish is miraculously in perfect condition, cut in the ever-popular hobnail design with a star cut base.

The underside has the full mark for the top-notch silversmith, Walker & Hall of Sheffield with the date symbol for 1895.

Excellent condition, the piece measures 8" x 5 1/4" x 5 1/2" tall to top of the integral handle; the glass dish measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".
