Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1860s.

Once opened, the interior reveals two lidded compartments, again with central Amboyna panels. The interior of the lid retains the original fabric lining finished with some gold paper embellishments.
There is a crystal mixing bowl in the center where the Green and Black teas would be blended to taste before placing in the tea pot.
A most unusual example in excellent condition, the lid measuring 12 1/2" wide x 7 3/4" & standing 6 3/4" tall.
