Antique English Silver Plated Egg Cruet for Four by S.j. Levi C.1910

Description

A charming and really unusual Edwardian egg cruet for four. The shaped base is beautifully decorated with rerpousse or embossed work and a crimped edge. Most unusual is the original glass dish in the centre, presumably for butter, with a lovely hobnail base.

There are four egg cups which sit on their individual pins. There are four egg spoons, these are later but a the perfect complimentary design for the set.

The underside is marked S.J.L & Co. for the silversmith, S.J. Levi & Co. Excellent condition, the base measures 5 3/4" square x 7 1/2" tall, the glass dish having a diameter measuring 3 3/8".
