Description

A Johann Maresch pottery wall plaque decorated in relief with an idealised neo-classical Capriccio Roman scene, circa 1880, with a black burnished finish, after the antique and in imitation of black Attic pottery. The foot rim is pierced for suspension, the reverse stamped 'JM 31'. 26.5cm diam.
