A rare and superb, hand made wooden foundry casting pattern for a large gear, possibly American, dating from the mid 1800's. It has 6 spokes with a universal square hub. For a similar example see www.geararium.org (Museum of Gears & Tooth Wheels, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada).
