Antique English Heart Shaped Single Ring Box - Victorian, 1899

Description

A romantic individual ring box, highly sought-after being in a heart shape made from Victorian English sterling silver.

The box is beautifully decorated with an all-over floral and foliate repousse or embossed decoration, the domed lid have a small vacant circular cartouche. The box lid fits well and once opened reveals a blue velvet interior (having been more recently re-lined) accommodating that single special ring.

The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1899 together with the silversmith's initials N & H for the well renowned Nathan & Hayes.

Excellent condition, measuring 2" x 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" tall.
