Antique English Walnut Fall-front Jewelry Box C.1900

Description

A delightful little late Victorian Jewellery box dating to around 1900 made from Walnut.

The lid is domed, crowned with a shield-shaped mount, which would have been used to personalize, there is a complimentary mounted escutcheon to the front which houses the working key.

Once the lid is opened, the front can be opened downwards, which reveals an internal drawer. The top section is fitted with the original silk and velvet with ring holders running vertically each side. The drawer fabric is in keeping but I suspect renewed at sometime.

Beautiful condition, the footprint measures 7 1/4" x 5 1/2" and the box standing 5" tall.
