A Classic Victorian 20 Drawer Collectors Cabinet by Watkins and Doncaster of the Strand London

Description

This cabinet is a classic product of the late 19th century period of the watkins and doncaster workshop and showroom in the strand, london.

The cabinet which is constructed of satin walnut and deal is a twenty drawer entomological model designed for the storage, protection and display of a collection of butterflies or allied insects. It will lend itself to a multitude of collecting pursuits.

The drawers all have a glazed, drop in, close fitting frame to the top and the base and sides are papered in the traditional way. A layer of cork is under the base paper to receive pins. These drawers are of the imperial pin depth.

(we are proficient in the practice of re-papering to a very high standard if required).

This cabinet is in excellent condition and highly recommended. All questions and enquiries are welcome. Delivery is a task I undertake and am completely competent in the safe and secure delivery of these items.

Width. 20.5 inches.

Front to back. 18.5 inches.

Drawers.

Width. 17 inches.

Front to back. 15 inches.
