John Frodsham was born 1785 and died in 1849, he was part of the renowned Frodsham Clockmakers. In 1822 he was admitted to the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. He had a son Henry who he took on as an apprentice in 1830. The business traded as Frodsham and Son from 1834 to 1853. John Frodsham had premises at 33 Gracechurch Street from 1825 to 1837, the business then moved to number 31 where it remained until the turn of the century.
