Pair of 19th C Marble & Ormolu Vases

Description

A pair of mid 19th C breche marble and ormolu cassolettes, the cassolettes with a bulbous body of breche marble, tapering to an ormolu finial, the lift off lid with a waisted lower half of marble, beneath a 'spiral cut' ormolu collar and with an ormolu finial. The main body with three winged ormolu cherubs, cascading into acanthus leaves and terminating into lion's paw feet, the feet standing on a triform base of breche marble with a decorative ormolu mount to the middle.

These are very good, well detailed, decorative objects which would work equally well in a traditional or contemporary setting.
