Description

I love the archaic feeling in this mid-3rd quarter 19th century little prayer-rug. I would stab a guess that the 3 large 'arrow' shapes in the central field are possibly stylised 'trees-of-life'! The rug is of Timuri origin - possibly from the region of Adraskand in western Afghanistan.

Size: 1.27m x 0.87m (4' 2" x 2' 10").
