Heydays Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The right pedestal has three drawers with turned handles and the left pedestal has three dummy drawers concealing two shelves, and it locks from the side. All locks work - with the same key. The top has a green leather writing suface with gold tooling. The leather is sound although it does show signs of fading.
