London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
This Victorian bookcase is a superb example offering wonderful proportion and lovely condition.

The ten shelves are fully adjustable and removable (more can be added if desired).
The piece exhibits finely balanced snakes-tongue moulded detail to the sides and classic relief moulding to the front rails, all which sit below the stepped crown moulding.

The whole bookcase is presented in excellent order and the quality of construction is evident in the timber selection and detailing.
The cabinet will make a wonderful office, hallway, reception, library or study piece. It is a rare example in this condition and size.

Overall a superb item of English furniture will make a fine feature in any room.
