A Large Oak Country House Scottish Fireplace

19th century
Description

A large Oak Country House Scottish fireplace. The jamb ends having beautifully carved figural heads and having a central carved cartouche. Having a rectangular stepped mantle which is a later replacement, but extremely well made circa 1850

Dimensions: mantle 101.5" wide x 17" deep at ends x 10" deep at centre x 58" high (opening 52" wide x 40" high)

Condition: This fireplace has been stripped and sanded back to the original oak and is in need of waxing or French polishing. We have left it in the condition we purchased it in to allow the purchaser to decide
