Rare - Set Six Antique English Silver Plated Chamber Sticks by Elkington & Co. - Date Letter for 1880

Description

These are clearly from a very grand home, never have I seen a set of six Chambersticks, one is lucky enough to find a pair!

Not only is this a wonderful set, they are made by the creme de la creme of silversmith's, Elkington & Co., each signed on the underside and each with a mark including the date letter for 1880, true Victorian examples.

Clearly originally purchased together for a family home and at the time each was engraved with an Armorial Crest, with the motto "Tenax Propositi" meaning "Firm of Purpose".

Each has it's snuffer which sits on the integral holder on the base.

An exceptional find in excellent condition. The dish diameter measures 5 3/4" or 6 3/4" including the handle. Each standing 3" tall.
