Unusual Antique English Silver Plated Revolving Breakfast with Integral Entree Dish C.1890

Description

A most unusual revolving breakfast dish, I have never had or even seen one before with the integral lidded entree dish.

The knob at the front is made from Ivory and when pushed back the dome revolves to reveal the lidded entree dish, this can be removed and taken to the table. This would be perfect on a buffet to serve either hot (with hot water beneath) or cold (with crushed ice below) dishes; a very impressive addition to any occasion.

The dish stands on four wonderfully decorative legs. The underside is fully marked for the well renowned silversmith, Martin Hall & Co.

A beautiful dish in excellent condition, measuring 12 1/2" handle to handle x 7" x 7" tall.
