London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The piece would have been considered a pleasing luxury travelling essential for a wealthy gentleman during mid-Victorian period.

A solidly constructed mahogany cabinet with field panel door and original side 'porter' handles rises into the upper section which presents a lift top sink cover and rear lined water well.
Internally the original bow lever tap, plug, chain and centre are present. The sink is in fine order and displays gorgeous scallops to the side.

The piece may be used as intended originally with water being put into the well, or the cabinet would be wonderful if plumbed in as a feature item in any bathroom or bedroom suite with the rear well then used for storage of bathroom and vanity items.

Overall this piece of furniture is in good antique order and will make a fine and interesting addition to any home.
