Georgian Twin Fusee Bracket Clock Chater London

Description

A fine quality Georgian twin fusee bracket mantel clock. A mahogany case with the original patination. Line inlays to the case with side sound fretwork. Brass ball adjustable feet. A cast brass bezel to the convex enamel dial. Brass cut hands. This has a quality feature of a true enamel dial - nearly all dials you see are painted metal. A twin fusee mechanism with engraved backplate and pendulum with locking device.

Richard Chater of London worked at 12, Cornhill and was free of the Clockmakers Company in 1781. He died in 1811.
