Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The lid is hinged and in perfect working order, the underside of the lid has a partial hallmark and the full hallmark can be found on the silver near the base of the inkwell. The silver is marked for Birmingham 1903, making it Edwardian in era, and at the height of Art Nouveau design. The makers initials HM are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Excellent condition, measuring 2 3/4" across the base and standing 2 3/4" tall to the top of the domed lid.
