Tall Victorian Spelter Lamp

Description

A fabulously detailed, tall and heavy Spelter Lamp with a figure of a girl with folded arms leaning on a tree and the face of a Wolf emerging out behind the tree.

Red Riding Hood? Or a mythological figure?

The signature on the base appears to be E Fich

We have lightened the photographs so that the details are more clearly seen, but it is very dark brown/black in colour, and measures 25" (64cm) in height and the widest part measures 11" (28cm).

This was wired by the previous owner for the UK market many years ago. There is no damage or repairs we can see and it is the most unusual of the Spelter lamps we have had. It is also Very Heavy.

Lancaster Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
