Twin Fusee Regency Irish Bracket Clock

19th century
Description

A very impressive, top quality, Regency bracket clock by ROBERT COSTIGAN of DUBLIN.

The beautiful flame mahogany case retains it's original French-polished finish with a superb colour and rich patina. It is sympathetically enhanced with intricate brass inlay and arched brass sound frets to the sides.

It stands on four brass bun feet.

The 8" convex painted dial has black Roman numerals and is clearly signed with the makers name. It has a heavy cast brass bezel and convex glass.

The 8 day movement has just been fully overhauled by our BHI registered staff.

The twin fusee movement is fitted with PULL REPEAT on the hour striking.

Importantly, the clock strikes on a bell, giving a very clear, crisp tone.

The London style adjustment pendulum is fitted with a screw locking device. The rear glazed door is key lockable.

Detailed photographs available of the movement on request.

Dimensions:

Height 18" (46cm)

Width (max) 12" (30cm)

Depth 7" (18cm)

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
