Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1860s.

The frame is silverplated with engraving to the lid, highly decorative supports and four exquisite feet. The underside of each foot has the highly sought-after English design registration diamond or lozenge, allowing us to date it to 13th October 1865.

The removable cut crystal liner is a hefty piece of glass, beautifully cut to bounce the light off. There are a few minor rough spots to the glass, insignificant but mentioned for accuracy, quite amazing that this removable liner has survived 150 years in such marvelous condition.
Excellent quality and condition, the base measuring 7 1/2" x 6 3/4" and standing 9 1/2" to top of finial.
