Fine Victorian Dining Chairs - Cabriole Leg - c1850
With classic proportions and huge style this mahogany set offers overstuffed seating comfort. The set have been recently professionally recovered with a quality textile in a light pastel shade of violet with matching brocade.
The cabriole leg has wonderful moulded edge detailing and combines well with the serpentine front rail.
Very attractive and interestingly detailed pierced back-splats display wonderful relief carving and are in superb condition. The buckle back and pinched appearance at the waist give the set a look of lightness.
With a 45cm (17.7") seat height these chairs would make an ideal set for regular use. They are robust and strong throughout and offer a pleasing seating experience.
The set are in very good antique order throughout and are solid of joint.
