Description

A slim, well proportioned longcase clock. An oak and mahogany crossbanded case with a swan neck hood pediment. An attractive arched painted dial with cottages by a river to the corners and a romantic scene to the arch. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

Richard Hardy of Newark is recorded in Loomes' Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1813-1844.
