Atropos Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
There is a 'usable' depth under the glazed frame of each drawer, of 2.25 inches. In the case of most entomological cabinets this would be limited to about 1.25 to 1.5 inches.the drawers internally are corked and papered.
The cabinet was made circa 1860 and is aesthetically very pleasing, this combined with it's practical potential makes it a very attractive item.
