Fine Victorian Dining Chairs - Superb Condition - c1880
With classic proportions and easy style this mahogany set makes a fantastic statement.
The claw and ball foot below a cabriole leg is topped with wonderful detailing to the upper knee and demonstrates the quality of the set.
Very pleasing and interestingly detailed pierced back-splats display wonderful relief carving and are in superb condition. The serpentine back rail is of fine shape.
The carvers offer additional presence through their wider seat and fabulous arms.
The set benefit from 'drop-in' seats which make the re-covering of such very straightforward. Presently the seat pads are in an olive faux leather which is in good order and the set are ready to use.
With a 46cm (18.1") seat height these chairs would make an ideal set for daily use.
The set are in very good antique order throughout and are solid of joint.
Overall a great opportunity to enjoy a stylish set of six antique chairs which will serve and perform excellently whilst looking gorgeous.
