P A Oxley Antique Clocks & Barometers has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The dial also with a brass set hand and a blued steel indicator hand. The silvered brass thermometer scale calibrated from 0º to 110º Fahrenheit and mounted in a removable box. The brass bezel with a convex glass. The mahogany case of flame veneer and with double edge ebony and boxwood stringing. The broken swan next top with ivory paterea and a central ivory finial.

Note: Richard & Henry are listed as working at 12 Wilson Street, Grays Inn Road, London from 1829-1855. They are listed as Engravers which explains the unusual position for the name and address.
