This is a simply stunning antique Louis XV style table clock dating from around 1870.
The top of the the clock is surmounted by a cherub holding a horn. The large dial is mounted with 12 individual cartouches on a heavy brass plate and is compete with the original blued steel hands.

The French movement is of high quality. It is a large plate movement with rack striking and pin-pallet escapement. It runs for 8 days and strikes half hourly on a bell and is complete with an old replacement pendulum. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker and is in excellent working order. Condition of the case is excellent with no losses and the clock has a lovely clean and bright finish. The dial is also in excellent condition with no significant chips or scratches to the cartouches.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
