Unusual Antique French Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses in Original Evening Bag C.1900

About as charming as they come, a pair of delightful French Opera glasses clad in iridescent Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with eye pieces to match. The glasses have been professionally re-polished to gleam giving them a new lease of life.

Of course what makes this pair really special is the original evening bag they come in. Made form red velvet with a coordinating cord handle, the bottom acts as a case for the Opera Glasses, lined in cream silk and the top is a change purse, perfect for tickets, a handkerchief and the like. The spherical knob slides to the right to release the catch for the purse .. all is in great shape but being a 120 years old should be handled with respect.

All in excellent condition with the bag measuring a total of 7 3/4" to top of handle x 4 3/4" wide; the glasses measuring 4 1/4" wide x 2 3/8" tall expanding to 3 1/8".
