A lovely small antique Cartel clock by the famous maker Japy Freres. It is in the style of Louis XV examples and is beautifully modelled in gilt brass.
Japy Freres movement is of excellent quality as you would expect from this maker. It is in excellent condition having been completely overhauled by our clock maker - click the movie below to hear the bell strike and see the clock running. It runs for 8 days and strikes half hourly on a bell and is complete with an old replacement pendulum.
Condition of the case is excellent with a bright and clean finish, some wear to the original gilding and some tarnish / discolouration in places. Back door catch is missing - this does very little anyway. Dial is has some chipping around the Brocot shaft, otherwise is in excellent condition.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
