A Large and impressive Antique French Gothic clock set.
The style is typical of French gothic, with lions masks, hairy paw feet, flowing foliage and surmounted by a bell. The body of the clock is fretted and modelled as a niche embedded in the overgrown foliage.
The matching candelabra are 6 light, the centre having a finial attached. The bases are modelled to compliment the design of the clock.
Dial is enamel on copper and is unusual in having the retailers signature surviving in the centre of the dial. it is complete with the original blued steel hands.
Antique French movement runs for 8 days and strikes half-hourly on a bell. It has been fully restored in our workshop and is on excellent clean and running condition. The pendulum is a new replacement. Click the movie below to see and hear the movement working!
Condition of the case is excellent with a bright and clean finish, there is some wear and discolouration in places, there are no losses or repairs. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. The candelabra arms are slightly distorted.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
