Fabulous Boxed Pair Antique English Sterling Silver Pepperettes - Mappin & Webb - 1898

Description

Firstly, what a magnificent quality presentation box, quite an exceptional shape, leather covered with the clasp working perfectly and a beautiful velvet and silk interior.

The box contains two little sterling silver pepper pots, ovoid shaped, each on three spherical feet. The underside on both is hallmarked for Sheffield 1898 together with the makers initials M&W for the top notch silversmith, Mappin & Webb.

The combined weight of the two is 49.5 Grams or 1.59 Troy Ounces. Excellent condition each pepperette measuring 1 1/2" tall and the box measuring 4 1/2" x 3".
