The front of the top portion of the cabinet is decorated with mysterious Griffins, known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions.

The doors open to reveal a lavishly decorated interior, the drawers with turned Ivory knobs and a variety of Penwork designs including Oak leaves and Acorns.
The front of the doors are decorated with two rural scenes. The box comes complete with a working tasseled key which works both the front doors and lid.

Quite superb, dating to around 1820, and remaining in excellent condition with a foot print measuring 10 1/2" wide x 7" deep x 16 1/2" tall.
