A very decorative original antique French Japy Freres gilt brass clock in excellent condition. It features a superb figure of an eagle, clutching the top of the clock, full of movement and life. The clock is French Gothic in style, with lions mask and hairy paw feet. It is constructed of brass with a gilded finish which is in excellent bright and clean condition. The dial is enamel on copper with finely fretted, blued steel hands and an egg and dart bezel.
The Japy Freres French movement is of this clockmakers usual excellent quality.
It strikes the hours and halves on a bell. It is complete with the original pendulum. Click the movie below to see and hear the movement working!

The case is in excellent original condition, bright and fresh with hardly any wear or discolouration. The enamel dial is in excellent condition, no chips or scratches.
Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
