Large Pair of Marble Vases

19th century
Description

A tremendous pair of 19th C ormolu and marble cassolettes, the bowl shaped body of marble with a pierced ormolu collar, the lid with leaf and grape decoration and grape bunch finial, the body with well-detailed floral swags and an ormolu mount to the underneath of the body complete with finial. The three legs with ram's heads above laurel leaf decoration and terminating to 'hoof' feet, resting on a triform marble base with ormolu beading and on three substantial feet.

Fantastic size and detail.

This pair of cassolette is quite similar to another smaller pair listed on our website and would compliment each other very well.
