London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The table folds and opens with ease and locks solidly into open position with a turn-bar to the underside. The piece benefits from quality brass hinging pins and is designed with both stability and lightness in mind.

The table top is in very good order and has a lip to the perimeter to prevent items sliding off. A trio of brass studs extend from one leaf to the other when in the closed position - a nice detail and indication of the craftsmanship applied.

In very good antique condition throughout this piece was clearly commissioned to last and is well crafted.
The table is perfectly proportioned and offers the versatility to serve as an occasional table or in permanent service as a lamp or display table.

Overall this interesting table is a wonderful and stylish piece of furniture that offers terrific maritime interest and it will be at home in any location.
