Huge Grand Antique English Walnut Roswell's Patent Type Stereographoscope C.1870

Description

A huge and top quality example of a Victorian Stereoscope, with a footprint measuring a mammoth 24" x 12" and comes complete with with around 80 Stereoscope cards shown.

Covered in warm nutting burr Walnut with a fretwork image holder & ground glass screen which slides back and forth using the turned Ivory knobs; the folding easel on the interior to angle the viewer is also beautifully fretted. The graphoscope lens measures 7".

Unmarked but possibly made by Negretti & Zambra of London. All of the brass fittings have been professionally re-polished to gleam.
