Magnificent Antique English Cut Crystal & Sterling Silver Scent or Perfume Bottle - 1899

Description

A fabulous and highly decorative example, this spherical globe perfume bottle is in exquisite condition.

The glass is beautifully cut in the ever-popular hobnail design and a star cut on the underside.

The sterling silver showering over the shoulders and halfway down the bottle is what makes this s very special example, the design incorporating birds. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1899 together with the makers initials M.J.J for the silversmith, Matthew John Jessop.

The lid fits perfectly, the interior beautifully gilded and the bottle complete with it's stopper.

The bottle as I said earlier, in superb undamaged condition with a diameter approximately 3 1/3" and standing 4 3/4" tall.
