Scarce Antique Mauchline Tartan Ware Scissors Box with Original Cut Steel Scissors

Description

A wonderful find, this stunning and complete Tartanware scissors caddy comes complete with all three pairs of scissors with wonderful cut steel handles which sparkle; each marked W.Maggill.

The case is covered in highly sought-after Tartan in the Stuart plaid or tartan, marked "Clan Stuart" with it's original gold on black label nice and clear.

The case has a stunning engraved steel clasp with the pin which when pulled down releases the clasp and opens the box. The interior is all original in red velvet and cream silk.

The case remains in what can only be described as excellent condition regardless of the few scuffs and scratches, I have shown the worse area at the tip. Quite wonderful, the box measures 5 7/8" x 2" at widest.
