Antique English Brass Inkwell - Beautiful Engraving C. 1880

Description

A lovely quality and most unusual inkwell made from brass which I have just had professionally polished to gleam.

The inkwell itself is in the form of a sphere with exquisite and finely executed engraved decoration including pretty floral garlands to the top. The top is finished with a chunky ring.

The interior incorporates a removable glass ink chamber making it easy to refill and clean.

Dating to the Victorian era, this example dates to around 1880. Excellent condition with a base diameter measuring 3 3/4"; standing 4" tall excluding ring.
