Fine Victorian Mahogany Collectors Cabinet by J.t.crockett of Cavendish Square. London.

19th century
Description

A superb 20 drawer victorian mahogany entomological cabinet by j.t.crockett of london.

This beautiful cabinet was made circa 1880 by this famous london cabinet maker and is of the very best quality. This is very much a 'gentlemans' cabinet.

The condition is excellent. All the drawers have closely fitting glazed frames to protect and display the collectables within. The drawer bases are corked and papered. (if re-papering is required we can carry this out in our workshops to the highest standard). All the fittings are original and the patina and colour of the cabinet and drawers is very fine. The drawer knobs are ebony and the door, which retains the original glass, has the classic 'gothic moulding to the top which was one of j.t. Crockett's style trade marks.

Dimensions.

Height. 49.5 inches.

Width. 21.75 inches.

Front to back. 19.5 inches.

Drawers.

Width. 17 inches.

Front to back. 16 inches.

Overall depth. 2 inches. (imperial size).

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
