Description

An impressive French tortoishell boulle mantel clock. Fine quality brass inlays to the tortoishell with ormolu mounts. An enamel dial signed 'Brocot Aine Paris' and signed to the mechanism. Blued steel 'moon' hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Circa 1860.

The Brocot family are noted clockmakers.
