Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Created from Mahogany, a plethora of exotic woods have been used to create this decorative box.
The front also has this decoration but surrounding a large shell inlay.

The interior of the lid has been re-lined in a hand-marbled paper. There are two lidded compartments, one for Green Tea, the other for Black Tea.
What makes this caddy stand out is the secret silver spoon drawer below. The entire right hand side of the caddy can be lifted, the spoon drawer springs out; it can then be pushed back in and the panel closed to conceal.
A quite fabulous piece measuring 10" x 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Superb condition.
