Description

A really fabulous quality box, made from solid Rosewood, a highly prized and expensive wood, making this a heavy and solid box.

The box stands on four beautifully turned feet. The box is decorated with the most exquisite and intricate Ivory inlay on the lid, front and sides.

Once opened, quality continues with a beautifully crafted removable tray with a variety of compartments including a lidded compartment, again decorated with Ivory inlay and a turned Ivory knob. The interior retains the original red velvet throughout.

Dating to around 1870, the box comes with a working tasselled key. Superb quality and condition. 8" x 5 3/4" x 4 3/8" tall.
