Handsome Antique English Parquetry Inlaid Walnut Tea Caddy C.1860

Description

A handsome Victorian tea caddy, made from Walnut with all edges ebonised to frame the the decorative panels.

The caddy is inlaid with intricate geometric inlaid straps coming across the lid and down the front, a plethora of exotic woods were used to create this Tunbridge Ware decoration.

The interior of the lid is also lined in Walnut and the two lids made from Walnut with ebonised button shaped knobs.

The front is inset with a brass escutcheon, alas no key. Excellent condition, measuring 6 7/8" x 4 1/4" x 4 1/2" tall.
