Description

A good quality early Victorian fusee bracket clock. A rosewood case of good colour and patination. Brass side sound fretwork and standing on adjustable ball feet. An arched pediment with carved decoration. A cast brass bezel with convex bevelled glass. A painted dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell with a pendulum locking device.

George Philcox of London recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1839-1875. This example dates to circa 1845.
